Deadwood Stone
About Deadwood Stone

Deadwood Stone is a hard rock band from Grand Rapids, MI. Deadwood Stone formed in early 2009, when experienced musicians and former bandmates Chris Phillips, Nate Bishop, and Dave Droski reunited, with friend Thad Underhill playing bass. Later in 2009 they recorded an E.P. with David James at Double D Productions in Grand Rapids, MI. Deadwood Stone’s “Exit Strategy E.P.” has been well received by most who hear it. The music has been featured on Music Mondays on JT The Brick’s nationally syndicated FOX Sports Radio show, as well as Grand Rapids rock station 101.3 WBFX. Songs from ‘Exit Strategy E.P.’ were also selected for the soundtracks to local independent films ‘Bad Guy’ and ‘Small Change’.

With the release of ‘Exit Strategy E.P.’ show opportunities increased, and Deadwood Stone brought in co-songwriter Fred Droski to play bass. With Fred now on bass and contributing to song writing, Deadwood Stone gained momentum with new material and bigger shows.

Deadwood Stone has played with a number of national acts in premier venues including Queensryche, Puddle of Mudd, Theory of a Deadman, Papa Roach, Skillet, Volbeat, Tantric, Fuel, Chevelle, Saliva, and Pop Evil. They also love packing the small bars in any town and playing all night.

One listen to Deadwood Stone and it will be apparent that they have a no-nonsense approach to writing songs. Great melodies combined with complex guitar riffs, catchy hooks, and monstrous percussion make up what Deadwood Stone is all about. It’s a straight-forward rocking band of four guys making music brewed in the gut and shot from the hip.

Deadwood Stone has no plans of slowing down any time soon. Deadwood Stone has begun recording their first full length album of all new material and will be released in early 2012.
